This email is a great showcase for the use of animated gifs in email marketing, which has seen a major surge this year. Animation in emails grabs the recipients attention and has increased click through rates.

Internet Explorer Gains Market Share

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer are gaining market share, mostly to the detriment of Mozilla Firefox. Firefox and Google Chrome have lost market share over the past three months, while Safari and Internet Explorer have gained market share, with Internet Explorer having the biggest gain.

These four internet browsers often fluctuate in usage, but with Internet Explorer seeing the biggest increase in market share over the last three months, this only looks set to continue.

With many different internet browsers, and internet options to change, update and personalize individuals’ own browsing experiences, the likes of Mozilla and Microsoft have to constantly up-date their browsing options to compete for market share.

Just Think…with so many internet options, why not make your internet marketing easier with help from Justthink.co.uk!

JTi Friday 30th July

It’s time for JTi Friday, Just Think’s weekly look at what is fun and interesting in the world of internet marketing.

A few weeks ago we wrote about the Old Spice man and his social media exploits (see original post). Since then we have been following him on Twitter and have been impressed by his video replies to tweets and posts (there’s even one aimed at Gillette).

Alas these replies have come to an end (for now) as explained in the Old Spice man’s latest reply to everyone below.

If you haven’t been following the Old Spice man on Twitter, you can catch up on all his replies on the Old Spice YouTube Channel here.

This again shows how responsive Social Media marketing can be for a business. Creaing another avenue to connect with existing and potential customers.

1 in 3 adults agree with the statement “I could not live without the internet”.

85% of the population is online, spending over 6 hours on social media sites every month. Nearly 60% of these read blogs and 64% have their own profile on a social network.

The relative power of the internet and social networks is only highlighted, with the announcement of the sales of Old Spice since their social media marketing campaign last month. Old Spice have reported an increase in sales of 107% over the past month, and a 55% increase over the past 3 months.

The Old Spice campaign started with TV adverts, which then went viral on You Tube. The Old Spice actor, ‘Isaiah Mustafa’ then recorded funny videos based on the original advert, which were personalised in response to bloggers, fans and tweeters. The total viewing figures of all Old Spice videos has reached 110 million, surpassing the reach of traditional broadcast.

The success of Old Spice shows a brilliant example of how powerful social media can be, and what it can do for your sales figures. Make sure that your business doesn’t miss out on the 85% of the online population, and “like” Just Think on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to see how we can help you to reach out to the online market.

Figures found on behalf of Simply Zesty, a UK-based online PR.
